These images are just a glimpse into the creative process and production of "The Fungus Among Us- A Mycological Print Anthology" and "The Psychedelic Coloring Book", (Which, was one of the first adult coloring books and has now been sold in 29 countries).
I printed, laid out, promoted and virally marketed the funding for these projects, which feature over 70 Illustrations and a high quality set of books that I single handedly created from conception to lay out, print set up and even paper and ink sourcing.

original sumi sketch
After illustration was complete, I scanned the 32 sumi illustrations into the computer, adjusted light and contrast in photoshop, then converted them and cleaned them up for print in Illustrator. After the images were in vector format, I refined them further in photoshop once more to include identification and attribute symbols and information to each page.
Then each page was laid out in adobe Indesign with bleeds, crop marks, register marks and covers. After the book was ready for print, I worked for dozens of hours with a local Seattle Print Shop (Nikko Media) and sampled paper stock varieties, lamination and UV coating methods, printing styles, various inks and binding methods.
Once I was assured that the book was made to the highest standards possible, I field tested the book under every conceivable coloring condition. From Sharpie inks to water colors.
Lastly I personally marketed and distributed the book and have sold copies in 27 different countries, registered it with the library of congress and have copyrighted over 36 unique images sold everywhere from local bookstores, airport gift shops, museums, Amazon.com , Etsy.com and my own website.
